Let me first start off this by saying I am a VERY stubborn student. It takes a lot of pushing from other people to get me to want to challenge myself and put a lot of effort into my work, so I am extremely lucky to have had Mr. Sands as a teacher in this course. Whenever I was being unproductive, he would encourage me to create new pieces and he would help me work with new mediums and give me tools to assist me in creating new pieces.
These are some of the pieces that I created in Art 3 that didn't really branch outside from what I was used to doing (anime/cartoon/etc.)
Another thing I wanted to try in this class was mixing two mediums that aren't typically used together. I decided to try graphite pencil and acrylic paint. I painted a sketch then used a toothbrush to flick acrylic paint onto the sketch. I like how it looks like a typical drawing, but the acrylic adds an abstract feeling to it.
